Full opportunity detailsInternational applicants including Ugandans may apply with a relevant first degree and the required prior credits in social-science subjects and empirical research methods. The programme requires a German-equivalent final grade of 2.5 or better, English proficiency at B2 and German A1 by the end of the first year.
Development Studies focuses on economic and social development, empirical research methods and international development practice. It is designed for graduates seeking careers in development cooperation, policy, research and international organisations.
Benefits
Passau charges no tuition fees; students pay only the semester fee. Separate DAAD scholarship routes may be available for eligible applicants from developing and emerging countries. Graduates can apply for Germany\'s up-to-18-month post-study job-search residence permit.
Requirements
Applicants submit degree and transcript evidence showing the required subject and methods credits, a CV, module or course descriptions where needed and B2 English evidence unless an accepted prior English-medium education exemption applies.
How to apply
Applicants whose qualifying degree was earned outside the EEA normally apply through uni-assist. The published next winter-intake application period is 2027-04-01 through 2027-05-31.
