Who can apply

Ugandan applicants are eligible because the programme is open to students worldwide and is primarily intended for international students. Applicants normally need one or more relevant university degrees representing at least eight semesters and 240 ECTS or an equivalent qualification from a recognized research university. Applicants whose degree is not specifically in law must normally have earned at least 120 of the required 240 ECTS in law. Applicants with a relevant 180-ECTS degree may be considered if they can demonstrate an additional 60 ECTS of suitable preparatory study or equivalent recognised credits. English proficiency at C1 level is required.

About this opportunity

Comparative and Global Law is a two-semester English-taught LL.M. at the University of Münster focusing on comparative law, international law, legal history and advanced legal research. Students combine foundation courses, electives and research modules and complete an independent LL.M. research paper.

Benefits
The programme charges no tuition fees. Students pay the standard University of Münster semester contribution; the university lists EUR 369.50 for winter semester 2026/27, including student services and the semester transport ticket. The programme provides two semesters of English-taught study in comparative and global law, access to the Faculty of Law\'s research facilities and specialised law libraries and advanced preparation for international legal work or further research. The University does not provide a dedicated scholarship for this LL.M., so living, accommodation, travel, insurance and visa expenses are not covered.

Requirements
Applicants must provide proof of the qualifying degree or professional qualification and relevant transcripts, proof of C1 English proficiency, a curriculum vitae and any additional documents required to demonstrate the programme\'s selection criteria. English proficiency may be demonstrated through an English-taught degree or accepted tests including TOEFL iBT with at least 95 overall and minimum scores of 25 in speaking and 24 in writing, IELTS with at least 7 or Cambridge CAE with at least 180. One academic recommendation from a professor, assistant professor or equivalent academic staff member is also required and must be submitted directly by the referee to the programme with the applicant\'s application number.

How to apply
Register in the University of Münster online application portal, complete the Comparative and Global Law LL.M. application and upload the required academic records, English-language evidence, curriculum vitae and selection documents. After receiving the application number, provide it to the academic referee, who must send the recommendation directly to the programme. The university has not yet published exact official opening and closing dates for the next application cycle.

Find scholarships, postgraduate study and internships

Explore opportunities from Uganda and abroad. Location describes where an opportunity is based; check the official eligibility rules to confirm whether Ugandan, African or other international applicants can apply.

Fully funded scholarships in Canada, the USA and Europe

Compare undergraduate, master's and PhD awards by eligible nationality, subject and funding coverage. A tuition waiver does not necessarily cover living costs, insurance or travel. For medical study, confirm the exact degree and whether clinical training is included. High school awards have different age and admission requirements from university scholarships.

For US universities offering full scholarships, check the university's international admissions and financial aid pages. Confirm whether admission and funding require separate applications, and whether support is renewable each year.

Paid internships abroad and online internships

For internships in Europe or elsewhere, check nationality and enrolment requirements, the stipend, accommodation and travel coverage. Paid does not necessarily mean fully funded. Remote internships may still restrict the countries where participants can work. To intern abroad without programme fees, compare direct employer applications and check which costs you must pay yourself.

For summer placements, verify the start date and application year in the official call. Search the listings for a provider or subject, such as Expedia, EU delegation traineeships or agriculture in Germany, and confirm availability with that organisation.

NGO jobs, entry-level jobs and internships in Uganda

Check the posting date, closing date, duty station and required experience. For jobs with no experience, look for an explicit entry-level or graduate requirement; an urgent vacancy may still require experience. Verify American Embassy vacancies through the embassy's official recruitment service and New Vision vacancies against the original employer notice.

Application years and named scholarship programmes

Use the intake and deadline in each listing when comparing 2026 and 2027 opportunities. A 2022 notice is historical unless the provider has published a new call. Before applying to Yale Young African Scholars or an opportunity described as a UNICEF scholarship, verify the programme name, funding and current eligibility directly with the organisation. A search phrase alone does not confirm an available award.
