Ugandan applicants are eligible because the programme is specifically designed for international applicants who have obtained a first law degree. Applicants normally need a qualifying law degree representing approximately four years or 240 ECTS of legal education. Applicants with 210 ECTS may qualify if they can demonstrate relevant professional experience equivalent to the missing 30 ECTS. English proficiency at C1 level is required unless the applicant is exempt because English is their native language or they completed an English-taught university degree. German language proficiency is not required.
The European and International Economic Law LL.M. is a one-year, two-semester postgraduate law programme at LMU Munich for international law graduates. The English-taught programme focuses on European and international economic law, EU economic constitutional law, legal reasoning and specialised areas including corporate law, competition law, international taxation, intellectual property and data law.
Benefits
The programme charges no tuition fees. Students pay the applicable LMU semester contribution, currently listed at approximately EUR 98 per semester. The programme offers a one-year English-taught LL.M., a small international cohort of approximately 30 students, access to LMU\\s Faculty of Law and opportunities for advanced study in European and international economic law. Living expenses, accommodation, travel, health insurance and visa-related costs are not funded by the programme.
Requirements
Applicants must provide a previous law degree certificate or qualifying academic record, proof of 240 ECTS or proof of at least 210 ECTS together with qualifying professional experience, ranking or grading information if available, university entrance qualification, a two-page curriculum vitae, a three-to-five-minute application video, a motivation letter of no more than two pages, one academic recommendation letter, information on relevant professional experience if available and C1 English-language evidence unless exempt. Applicants whose previous degree was obtained in China, India or Vietnam must also provide the required APS certificate. Application documents must be submitted in English.
How to apply
Complete the electronic application through LMU\\s LLMuc online application system when the next application window opens and upload all required academic, language, motivation, recommendation and identification documents. LMU states that the next application period for the winter 2027/28 intake is expected to begin in December 2026, but an exact opening date and deadline for that cycle have not yet been published.
Explore opportunities from Uganda and abroad. Location describes where an opportunity is based; check the official eligibility rules to confirm whether Ugandan, African or other international applicants can apply.
Compare undergraduate, master's and PhD awards by eligible nationality, subject and funding coverage. A tuition waiver does not necessarily cover living costs, insurance or travel. For medical study, confirm the exact degree and whether clinical training is included. High school awards have different age and admission requirements from university scholarships.
For US universities offering full scholarships, check the university's international admissions and financial aid pages. Confirm whether admission and funding require separate applications, and whether support is renewable each year.
For internships in Europe or elsewhere, check nationality and enrolment requirements, the stipend, accommodation and travel coverage. Paid does not necessarily mean fully funded. Remote internships may still restrict the countries where participants can work. To intern abroad without programme fees, compare direct employer applications and check which costs you must pay yourself.
For summer placements, verify the start date and application year in the official call. Search the listings for a provider or subject, such as Expedia, EU delegation traineeships or agriculture in Germany, and confirm availability with that organisation.
Check the posting date, closing date, duty station and required experience. For jobs with no experience, look for an explicit entry-level or graduate requirement; an urgent vacancy may still require experience. Verify American Embassy vacancies through the embassy's official recruitment service and New Vision vacancies against the original employer notice.
Use the intake and deadline in each listing when comparing 2026 and 2027 opportunities. A 2022 notice is historical unless the provider has published a new call. Before applying to Yale Young African Scholars or an opportunity described as a UNICEF scholarship, verify the programme name, funding and current eligibility directly with the organisation. A search phrase alone does not confirm an available award.
