Applicants must seek admission to an eligible full-time Stanford graduate program and must normally have earned their first bachelor\'s degree in January 2020 or later; the military-service eligibility window begins in January 2018.
Knight-Hennessy Scholars funds graduate study at Stanford University for the 2027 cohort. Applicants must complete separate applications for the scholarship and their intended Stanford graduate degree program.
Benefits
Covers tuition and associated fees, provides stipends for living and academic expenses and annual travel, and gives newly enrolling scholars a relocation stipend. Funding is provided for up to three years, with longer PhD programmes using their standard departmental funding after that period.
Requirements
Online application, resume, transcripts and applicable test scores, recommendation letters, short answers and an essay. Applicants must also apply to and secure admission to an eligible full-time Stanford graduate programme; the KHS application has no fee, but the Stanford degree application may charge a fee.
How to apply
Submit the Knight-Hennessy Scholars application online and separately apply to the intended Stanford graduate programme by its KHS deadline or December 1, 2026, whichever is earlier.
