Full opportunity detailsApplicants must be nationals of Afreximbank member countries, which include Uganda, and meet the programme\'s student and age conditions. Candidates are expected to be enrolled in a recognised undergraduate or postgraduate programme in a relevant discipline such as economics, business, finance, accounting, social sciences, statistics, law, science, engineering or a related field. Applicants should have strong English or French and may benefit from additional working knowledge of Arabic or Portuguese. The programme generally accepts applicants aged 20 to 32 in the year of application.
Afreximbank\'s internship programme gives eligible students practical experience in the Bank\'s work supporting African trade and development. Interns are assigned to relevant business areas and work on professional tasks under Bank supervision.
Benefits
Afreximbank provides a monthly tax-free stipend of US$1,000 and a US$500 monthly housing allowance for interns relocating from their home countries. It also covers reasonable return travel between the intern\'s institution or home location and the internship location, provides initial hotel accommodation during induction, arrival and departure transfers, and support for the relevant residence visa where required. Interns are responsible for remaining living costs and must maintain the required medical and personal-accident insurance.
Requirements
Provide an application letter, current CV, valid passport, certified relevant academic certificates, a recommendation from the educational institution stating the proposed internship period, and a one-page statement of intent explaining the expected contribution and learning objectives. Candidates receiving a conditional offer must provide the medical and personal-accident insurance required for the assignment.
How to apply
Use the internship page\'s online application route and submit the required personal, academic and supporting documents. State the preferred internship period, which is normally three to six months, and remain available for the Bank\'s screening and placement process. Applications are accepted throughout the year.
