Citizens of eligible developing countries including Uganda who meet the bachelor\'s-degree, development-related professional experience and participating-master\'s-programme admission requirements.
Full scholarship for selected development-related master\'s programmes, normally including tuition, monthly living support, round-trip airfare and health insurance. A second 2027 application window is also scheduled.
Benefits
The scholarship covers tuition for the participating Master\'s programme, the cost of basic medical insurance obtained through the university and a monthly subsistence allowance whose amount depends on the host country. It provides economy-class air travel between the recipient\'s home country and host university at the beginning and end of the scholarship and a US$600 travel allowance for each of those trips. Funding is provided for the programme duration or two years, whichever is shorter. Visa costs, family expenses, computers, additional travel and several optional academic or extracurricular expenses are not covered.
Requirements
Applicants must meet the citizenship, degree and development-related professional-experience requirements and obtain unconditional admission to one of the JJ/WBGSP participating Master\'s programmes. The scholarship application requires the information and supporting documentation specified in the applicable 2027 call, including evidence of qualifying education, employment and admission. Applicants must meet all separate admission and language requirements of the participating university.
How to apply
First apply to an eligible JJ/WBGSP participating Master\'s programme and secure the required unconditional admission. Participating universities identify applicants eligible for JJ/WBGSP consideration and provide shortlisted candidates with access to the scholarship application. Complete and submit the scholarship application during the first 2027 application window from January 18 through February 26.
