High-value scholarship for future PhD Engineering students, providing a substantial annual stipend along with relocation and eligible health-cover support.
Benefits
The scholarship is valued at up to approximately AUD 140,000. It provides a fortnightly living stipend at the 2027 full-time rate of AUD 41,100 per year for up to 3.5 years, with eligible paid sick, maternity and parenting leave. It also provides a one-off relocation allowance of AUD 2,000 for students moving from interstate or AUD 3,000 for students moving from outside Australia. Eligible international recipients who require a student visa receive Overseas Student Health Cover Single Membership.
Requirements
Applicants must hold an offer for the Doctor of Philosophy - Engineering commencing in 2027 and complete the separate scholarship application. The application requires a personal statement addressing leadership and community engagement, the proposed research and future goals, and how receiving the scholarship would benefit the applicant\'s doctoral study and development.
How to apply
First secure an offer for the University of Melbourne Doctor of Philosophy - Engineering commencing in 2027. From August 28, complete the dedicated Gordon and Isabel Humphrey Scholarship application through the University\'s SmartyGrants form and submit the required personal statement before the closing date.
