Full opportunity detailsUgandan professionals may apply if they hold an eligible health or care role, have an offer from an approved UK sponsor such as the NHS, an organisation providing NHS medical services or an eligible adult social-care employer, receive a Certificate of Sponsorship and meet the occupation-specific salary and English requirements. Care-worker and senior-care-worker sponsorship in England is subject to additional employer requirements.
The Health and Care Worker visa is a specialist UK work route for eligible doctors, nurses, health professionals and qualifying adult social-care professionals. Applicants need an eligible sponsored job with an approved health or care employer.
Benefits
Successful applicants can live and work in the United Kingdom in the sponsored role, generally with a lower visa application fee than the general Skilled Worker route and without the Immigration Health Surcharge. The route can support qualifying dependants subject to current rules and can lead to settlement after the required period.
Requirements
Applicants provide the Certificate of Sponsorship number, passport, English-language evidence, job title and salary, occupation code and sponsor licence details. Depending on circumstances they may also need maintenance evidence, tuberculosis testing, criminal-record certificates, professional registration evidence and relationship documents for eligible dependants.
How to apply
Secure an eligible job from an approved health or care sponsor, receive a Certificate of Sponsorship and apply online for the Health and Care Worker visa within three months of the certificate being issued. Upload all required documents and complete identity and biometric steps.
