Ugandan civil society organisations qualify under the programme\'s eligible African geography. Applicants must be eligible CSOs with a demonstrated environmental solution ready for scaling or replication and must work in one or more strategic areas: threatened ecosystems and species, sustainable agriculture or fisheries and food security, low-carbon energy access, chemicals and waste management or sustainable urban solutions.
The CSO Challenge Program helps civil society organisations scale or replicate proven environmental solutions that deliver benefits for people and the planet. The current open window covers Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia-Pacific and Oceania.
Benefits
Selected organisations can receive up to USD 300,000 in direct grant funding for projects lasting up to 24 months. Recipients also receive tailored technical support, capacity development, assistance with environmental and social risk management, private-sector engagement support, increased organisational visibility and peer-learning and partnership opportunities.
Requirements
Applicants must document their organisation, demonstrate evidence that the proposed environmental approach has produced results and provide a credible strategy for replication or scaling. The proposal must address an eligible strategic area and include project activities, expected environmental and community outcomes, organisational capacity and budget information.
How to apply
Review the official Call for Proposals, eligibility criteria, concept-note template and Guidelines for Applicants. Complete the proposal through the programme\'s online grants portal and submit it by 2026-09-15 at 23:59 UTC.
