Full opportunity detailsUgandan citizens are eligible if they were awarded an eligible qualification within the previous five years by a university appearing on the Global Universities List for the month and year of graduation. The qualification must be equivalent to a UK bachelor\'s, postgraduate degree or doctorate. Applicants must obtain an Ecctis assessment, satisfy the English-language requirement and meet maintenance requirements.
The High Potential Individual visa allows recent graduates of universities appearing on the UK\'s Global Universities List to live and work in the United Kingdom without employer sponsorship or a job offer.
Benefits
The visa provides two years of UK residence for qualifying bachelor\'s or Master\'s graduates and three years for PhD or other doctoral graduates. A job offer is not required. Holders can work for eligible employers, seek employment and undertake other permitted activities, and qualifying partners and children may accompany them.
Requirements
Applicants need a valid passport, Ecctis verification of the overseas qualification, English-language evidence and normally at least GBP 1,270 in maintenance funds held for 28 consecutive days. The current application fee is GBP 880, the Ecctis assessment costs GBP 252 and the Immigration Health Surcharge is normally GBP 1,035 for each year of permission.
How to apply
Check the Global Universities List corresponding to the date the degree was awarded, obtain the required Ecctis verification and prepare English, financial and identity evidence. Apply online for the High Potential Individual visa and complete the required identity or biometric process.
