Full opportunity detailsUgandan citizens can apply because the route is nationality-neutral. Applicants must be 55 or younger, be working for or have a job offer from an accredited employer, hold a job appearing on Tier 1 of New Zealand\'s Green List, satisfy any occupation-specific qualification, registration and remuneration criteria and meet English, health and character requirements.
New Zealand\'s Straight to Residence Visa allows qualified workers with Tier 1 Green List employment to obtain residence without first spending a minimum period on a temporary work visa. Applicants need employment or an employment offer from an accredited New Zealand employer.
Benefits
Successful applicants can live, work and study in New Zealand indefinitely. An eligible partner and dependent children aged 24 or younger can be included in the residence application. The visa costs from NZD 6,450 and Immigration New Zealand reports that 80% of applications are processed within approximately three months.
Requirements
Applicants need a qualifying employment offer or current employment, accredited-employer evidence, documentation proving that the Tier 1 occupation requirements are met, English-language evidence where required and identity, health, character and family documentation.
How to apply
Confirm that the occupation is on Green List Tier 1 and obtain a qualifying job or job offer from an accredited employer. Gather the required employment, qualification, registration and personal documentation and submit the Straight to Residence application online through Immigration New Zealand.
