Applicants of all nationalities are eligible and Uganda is explicitly listed in the programme\'s Sub-Saharan Africa scholarship region. Candidates normally need at least a three-year bachelor\'s degree in engineering, physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer science or another qualifying science or technical field. Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency at approximately CEFR B2 or the programme\'s accepted test equivalent.
SMACCs is a two-year Erasmus Mundus Joint Master focused on the interdisciplinary development of smart and sustainable cities and communities. Students follow specialised mobility tracks across European partner universities.
Benefits
Erasmus Mundus scholarship holders receive EUR 1,400 per month for up to 24 months and pay no tuition fees. The scholarship contributes to travel, visa, installation and subsistence expenses. The programme has 95 Erasmus Mundus scholarships across the 2024-2027 entry cohorts, including scholarships targeting Sub-Saharan Africa. Tuition registration includes insurance coverage.
Requirements
The application requires a signed application form, one-page motivation letter, English-language evidence, CV, degree certificates, academic transcripts, professional-experience certificates where applicable and passport or identity-page copy. Strong scholarship candidates are invited to an online interview.
How to apply
Complete the online SMACCs application and upload all requested documents through the official application platform. Applicants seeking Erasmus Mundus or other SMACCs scholarships must submit by 2027-02-01. Scholarship consideration is automatic for eligible on-time applicants unless they opt out.
