Ugandan nationals can apply as foreign workers if they possess the qualifications, skills and experience required for the proposed sporting or cultural employment. The Irish employer must be a genuine legal employer, be registered with the Revenue Commissioners and applicable company registry and normally satisfy the requirement that at least 50% of its workforce consists of EEA nationals.
Ireland\'s Sport and Cultural Employment Permit supports recruitment of foreign nationals with specialised qualifications, skills, experience or knowledge needed for sporting and cultural activities in Ireland. Permits can cover full-time or seasonal employment.
Benefits
Full-time permits may be issued for up to two years, while seasonal permits can cover the applicable season. Remuneration must be at least Ireland\'s National Minimum Wage. A Labour Market Needs Test is not required. After 12 months, a permit holder may change employer by obtaining a new Sport and Cultural Employment Permit, subject to the route\'s conditions.
Requirements
The application must document the applicant\'s qualifications, skills and relevant experience, the Irish employment offer and contract, occupation and work location, remuneration and employer registration and trading status. The employer-employee relationship must involve direct employment and salary payment by the employer.
How to apply
Secure qualifying sporting or cultural employment with an eligible Irish employer. Either the worker or employer may submit the application through Ireland\'s Employment Permits Online system with the employment, qualification, employer and identity documentation and the applicable permit fee.
