All nationalities are explicitly eligible, including Ugandan citizens. Applicants must hold a doctorate, have no more than five years of postdoctoral experience and satisfy the international-mobility rule by not having resided or carried out their main activity in Belgium for more than 24 months during the three years preceding the project start date.

About this opportunity

UCLouvain\'s FSR Post-doc programme supports internationally mobile researchers across all scientific disciplines. Fifteen postdoctoral fellowships of up to three years are available in the 2027 competition.

Benefits
Funding consists of a tax-exempt postdoctoral fellowship lasting 12 to 36 months, with the amount taking the researcher\'s experience into account. The package also covers civil-liability insurance costs, social-security contributions and an operating budget. Fifteen fellowships are available under the 2027 call.

Requirements
The candidate must develop the application with a UCLouvain host promoter and submit the official application form and annexes as a single PDF. Applicants must also apply to the F.R.S.-FNRS Chargé de recherche instrument when that linked competition opens in the second half of December 2026.
