Domestic and international candidates, including Ugandan citizens, are explicitly eligible. Applicants must meet Macquarie University\'s direct-entry PhD requirements and have suitable preparation in engineering, information technology, computer science, distributed systems, cybersecurity or a related field.
This PhD project develops secure edge-computing frameworks for real-time biosensor processing in clinical environments. The research addresses latency, healthcare-data privacy, resource-constrained computing and scalable architectures for biosensor networks.
Benefits
The scholarship includes a tuition-fee offset and an indexed living allowance of AUD 40,900 per year for three years. Scholars gain hands-on experience with edge-computing platforms, containerisation, orchestration technologies, secure communications and distributed-system architectures.
Requirements
Applicants must meet formal PhD academic and English-language requirements and demonstrate relevant technical and research ability. Graduate-research admission documentation must be supplied after the initial project expression-of-interest stage.
How to apply
Submit an expression of interest to the project supervisor identified on the official scholarship page. Candidates invited to proceed must then submit the complete Macquarie University PhD and scholarship application with the required academic, research and English-language documentation by 2026-10-31.
