Uganda is explicitly listed among the participating countries. Eligible Ugandan researchers and institutions may participate in qualifying multi-country consortia involving institutions from participating African countries and addressing one of the call\'s priority themes.

The SGCI Multilateral Research Call funds African-led collaborations aligned with the African Union\'s Science, Technology and Innovation Strategy for Africa 2034. Priority areas include health, agriculture, artificial intelligence and digital technologies, energy and environment.
Benefits
Each funded consortium member may receive between CAD 50,000 and CAD 300,000. Projects may run for up to 36 months, with support for collaborative research, research-capacity strengthening, policy engagement and research uptake.
Requirements
Applicants must form an eligible multi-country consortium and prepare an Expression of Interest describing the research problem, scientific approach, partner institutions, consortium structure, capacity-strengthening activities, policy relevance, research-uptake pathway and proposed budget.
