Uganda is explicitly listed among the participating countries. Eligible Ugandan researchers and institutions may participate in qualifying multi-country consortia involving institutions from participating African countries and addressing one of the call\'s priority themes.
The SGCI Multilateral Research Call funds African-led collaborations aligned with the African Union\'s Science, Technology and Innovation Strategy for Africa 2034. Priority areas include health, agriculture, artificial intelligence and digital technologies, energy and environment.
Benefits
Each funded consortium member may receive between CAD 50,000 and CAD 300,000. Projects may run for up to 36 months, with support for collaborative research, research-capacity strengthening, policy engagement and research uptake.
Requirements
Applicants must form an eligible multi-country consortium and prepare an Expression of Interest describing the research problem, scientific approach, partner institutions, consortium structure, capacity-strengthening activities, policy relevance, research-uptake pathway and proposed budget.
How to apply
Review the official call and participating-country requirements, establish the required consortium and submit the complete Expression of Interest through the SGCI application platform by 23:59 Eastern Daylight Time on 2026-09-25.
Explore opportunities from Uganda and abroad. Location describes where an opportunity is based; check the official eligibility rules to confirm whether Ugandan, African or other international applicants can apply.
Compare undergraduate, master's and PhD awards by eligible nationality, subject and funding coverage. A tuition waiver does not necessarily cover living costs, insurance or travel. For medical study, confirm the exact degree and whether clinical training is included. High school awards have different age and admission requirements from university scholarships.
For US universities offering full scholarships, check the university's international admissions and financial aid pages. Confirm whether admission and funding require separate applications, and whether support is renewable each year.
For internships in Europe or elsewhere, check nationality and enrolment requirements, the stipend, accommodation and travel coverage. Paid does not necessarily mean fully funded. Remote internships may still restrict the countries where participants can work. To intern abroad without programme fees, compare direct employer applications and check which costs you must pay yourself.
For summer placements, verify the start date and application year in the official call. Search the listings for a provider or subject, such as Expedia, EU delegation traineeships or agriculture in Germany, and confirm availability with that organisation.
Check the posting date, closing date, duty station and required experience. For jobs with no experience, look for an explicit entry-level or graduate requirement; an urgent vacancy may still require experience. Verify American Embassy vacancies through the embassy's official recruitment service and New Vision vacancies against the original employer notice.
Use the intake and deadline in each listing when comparing 2026 and 2027 opportunities. A 2022 notice is historical unless the provider has published a new call. Before applying to Yale Young African Scholars or an opportunity described as a UNICEF scholarship, verify the programme name, funding and current eligibility directly with the organisation. A search phrase alone does not confirm an available award.
