Wellcome Career Development Awards support mid-career researchers ready to lead substantial independent programmes related to human life, health and wellbeing. Eligible researchers can lead awards through qualifying institutions in Uganda.

Benefits
Awards usually last up to eight years and fund justified resources required for the research programme. Annual expenditure is normally below GBP 250,000 excluding the applicant\'s salary, although larger proposals may be considered with additional scrutiny. Eligible costs can include salary, research staff, equipment, consumables, travel, visa expenses and specified overseas and family allowances.
