Who can apply

Ugandan citizens are eligible because UNICEF explicitly welcomes qualified candidates regardless of nationality. Applicants need a Master\'s degree in public policy, social sciences or another relevant field, although a first university degree plus two additional years of professional experience may be accepted, and must have at least ten years of relevant experience in volunteer and public-engagement work.

About this opportunity

The consultant supports UNICEF country offices in developing and scaling Green Rising initiatives focused on climate action, green skills, green entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods. Responsibilities also include strategy development, staff capacity building, fundraising proposals, donor reporting and communications.

Benefits
The assignment is a paid twelve-month UNICEF consultancy. UNICEF does not publish a fixed fee; applicants submit a separate financial proposal using UNICEF\'s prescribed template. The consultancy is remote and therefore does not require regular relocation to New York.

Requirements
Applicants need extensive experience designing and delivering volunteer initiatives, facilitating multi-stakeholder strategy processes, adapting engagement approaches across cultures and political contexts, using current digital tools, facilitating human-centred-design workshops and preparing successful fundraising proposals. Fluency in English is required, and another UN language is an asset.

How to apply
Complete an up-to-date UNICEF Talent Management System profile, upload a CV and cover letter and submit a separate financial proposal using UNICEF\'s required template. Apply through the official vacancy portal by 2026-09-20.
