Full opportunity detailsUgandan individuals, entrepreneurs, startups, nonprofit organizations and other eligible innovation teams may apply under MIT Solve\'s global application policy. Applicants must submit a technology-based solution addressing the Economic Prosperity Challenge and have at least a functioning prototype. Solutions must demonstrate a relevant economic problem, defined beneficiaries, technical feasibility and credible plans for implementation, sustainability and measurable impact.
MIT Solve\'s Global Economic Prosperity Challenge supports technology-based solutions that expand economic opportunity and improve financial resilience. The challenge seeks innovations addressing barriers to sustainable livelihoods, economic participation and access to essential economic resources.
Benefits
Every selected Solver team receives a USD 10,000 MIT Solve grant. Selected teams may compete for additional awards within MIT Solve\'s funding pool exceeding USD 1 million, subject to separate prize eligibility requirements. Certain supplementary awards are restricted by geography or thematic focus and are not automatically available to Uganda-based teams. The programme provides nine months of tailored business and organizational capacity development, leadership coaching, mentoring, technical and professional support, investor connections, media opportunities and participation in the international Solver network. Selected teams also participate in required MIT Solve events in the United States.
Requirements
Applicants must submit a complete MIT Solve online application describing the economic challenge, target population, technological solution, development stage, implementation model, evidence of effectiveness, projected economic impact, team qualifications, financial sustainability and scalability. Applicants must demonstrate innovation, feasibility, human-centered design and alignment with the challenge\'s published priorities.
How to apply
Visit the official 2027 Global Economic Prosperity Challenge page and start an online solution application. Register or sign in, provide the required information about the innovation and its intended economic impact, and complete the organizational, technical and implementation sections. Submit by November 2, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Shortlisted solutions proceed through expert evaluation, finalist presentations and the Solver selection process.
