Full opportunity detailsApplicants from Uganda and other countries worldwide may participate. Eligible applicants include individuals, startups, nonprofits, research teams and other organizations developing technology-based health solutions. Applicants must have at least a functioning prototype and demonstrate alignment with the health challenge. Solutions should present a credible approach to healthcare improvement, technical feasibility, community relevance, potential impact and sustainability.
MIT Solve\'s Global Health Challenge seeks technology-based innovations that improve health outcomes and access to healthcare. The challenge supports teams developing scalable solutions to healthcare barriers affecting underserved populations and communities.
Benefits
Each selected Solver team receives a USD 10,000 MIT Solve grant. Teams may also be considered for additional eligible funding from a prize pool exceeding USD 1 million, including prizes supporting artificial intelligence, data science and other eligible innovations. Additional prize selection is competitive and subject to separate criteria. The nine-month Solver programme includes workshops, leadership coaching, mentorship, access to technology and legal resources, monitoring and evaluation support, investor and partner connections, media opportunities and access to the global Solver network. Selected teams participate in programme events including Solver Orientation and Solve Challenge Finals in the United States.
Requirements
Applicants must complete the official MIT Solve application with details of the healthcare problem, affected population, proposed technological solution, prototype or operational stage, evidence of progress, implementation strategy, expected health impact, team competencies, business or organizational model and scalability. The application must demonstrate feasibility, innovation and relevance to the Global Health Challenge.
How to apply
Open the official 2027 Global Health Challenge page, select the solution application and register or sign in to MIT Solve. Complete all required sections describing the innovation, users, technological approach, impact, implementation and organizational capabilities. Submit the final application by November 2, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Shortlisted applicants progress through expert review and finalist selection.
