Full opportunity detailsFounders based anywhere in the world, including Uganda, may apply. Applicants should be developing scalable companies with a strong understanding of customer needs, the ability to execute and substantial market potential. Founders are not required to work full-time on their businesses when applying, but accepted participants must dedicate themselves exclusively to their startups throughout the accelerator. Applicants must satisfy Techstars\' investment and corporate eligibility conditions and be able to attend the required New York sessions. International participants must meet applicable United States immigration and travel requirements.
Techstars New York City Accelerator invests in startups developing products and services in sectors such as artificial intelligence, healthcare, climate technology, financial technology, supply chains and enterprise software. The programme combines investment with intensive mentorship and access to New York\'s commercial and venture investment ecosystem.
Benefits
Selected companies receive a USD 220,000 investment consisting of USD 200,000 through an uncapped most-favored-nation SAFE and USD 20,000 through a post-money convertible common equity agreement. Techstars receives 5% common equity plus additional ownership resulting from eventual conversion of the SAFE. Benefits include a three-month accelerator, specialist mentorship, business development assistance, access to Techstars\' investor and alumni networks, more than USD 2 million in advertised partner perks and continuing startup support. The programme begins March 8, 2027, and Demo Day takes place June 3, 2027.
Requirements
Applicants must provide founder contact details, location, professional profile and full-time startup involvement status. The company application requires the startup name, website, founding year, problem statement, proposed solution, relevant industries, incorporation information where applicable, founding team capabilities, traction, revenue and previous funding, target customers, competitors, competitive advantage, revenue model, acquisition strategy and development milestones. Product demonstrations, pitch decks and team introduction videos can be supplied. Selected companies must complete investment documentation and due diligence.
How to apply
Create a founder profile through the Techstars application portal. Complete the founder and company sections, provide information about the startup and select Techstars New York City Accelerator as a programme preference. Upload optional supporting materials where useful and submit by November 18, 2026. Shortlisted founders participate in the accelerator\'s interview and investment review process before final acceptance.
