Ugandans may apply, particularly those already authorized to work in the United States, United Kingdom or Hong Kong. Visa sponsorship is uncommon and requires newsroom approval. Fellows must be eighteen by 7 June 2027. Senior candidates need more than seven years of relevant professional experience.

Tarbell develops journalists covering artificial intelligence through training and newsroom placements. Fellows undertake a full-time programme from June 2027 through May 2028.

Benefits
Compensation of USD 75,000–120,000, or USD 115,000–135,000 for senior fellows, depending on experience and location. Includes journalism training, a nine-month newsroom placement and funded summit travel and accommodation.

Requirements
Complete the application and submit journalistic writing samples totaling no more than 4,500 words, including at least one prose sample. AI-generated application writing is prohibited.
