Ugandan applicants qualify when employed by an ACU member university and within seven years of starting their academic career, allowing career breaks. They must present or chair at a conference outside their country of work. Previous work travel outside their employment region and previous receipt of this grant make applicants ineligible.

These grants help emerging academics present research and develop international connections. Eligible conferences take place between January 2027 and January 2028.

Benefits
Seven grants of up to GBP 2,000 for registration, flights, accommodation, visa costs and travel and health insurance. Applicable taxes must fit within the grant budget.

Conference details and abstract; research relevance, professional benefits, knowledge-sharing and SDG explanations; departmental support letter; and itemized budget.

Register or sign in to MyACU, complete the conference grant application and submit one complete package before 15:00 UTC. Recipients provide a completion report.
