International practitioners, including Ugandans, with at least eight years of relevant experience may apply. A degree is unnecessary. The programme primarily serves practitioners rather than full-time academics. International fellows must qualify for the applicable J-1 visa.

Practitioners take an academic year to explore ideas improving the built and natural environment. Fellows engage with Harvard, MIT and a multidisciplinary professional cohort.
