Benefits
For full-time PhD recipients, the published 2026 scholarship provides a tax-free stipend of NZ$35,468 per year, adjusted annually in accordance with the scholarship regulations, for up to 42 months. It also covers compulsory tuition fees and the Student Services Fee. Eligible international PhD recipients receive the compulsory single-student international health-insurance charge. Part-time awards are paid at the applicable pro-rata rate.

Applicants must submit a complete doctoral admission application and satisfy the University\'s academic and research-entry standards. PhD applications generally require academic transcripts, a Statement of Research Intent, a curriculum vitae, evidence of English-language proficiency where required, research and publication information and academic references where applicable.
