Who can apply
Review the official criteria before applying
Uganda is explicitly listed as an eligible East African Community country. Applicants must be locally based, duly registered civil-society, NGO or community-based organisations operating in an eligible mountain region and have prior experience working directly with mountain communities. Proposed projects must address a climate-change risk or vulnerability using ecosystem-based adaptation or nature-based approaches.

Program overview and application information
Mountains ADAPT funds local organisations to design and implement ecosystem-based and nature-based solutions that strengthen the resilience of mountain communities. Up to 15 projects will be funded across East Africa and the South Caucasus in the first call.
Benefits
Projects can receive up to USD 30,000 for 12 months, with no specified minimum award. Successful organisations also receive tailored capacity-development and training support. Eligible costs can include project staff and experts, equipment and materials, training, operational and administrative expenses directly linked to project implementation. Co-funding is not mandatory.
Requirements
Applicants provide organisational registration information and certificate, evidence of relevant mountain-community experience, description and evidence of the climate risk, proposed nature-based solution, beneficiaries, gender and inclusion approach and implementation capacity. Selected applicants later provide official organisational bank details and legal-representative identification.
