Ugandan graduate students are eligible because the programme welcomes students enrolled in graduate programmes locally and globally. Applicants must remain enrolled in a graduate degree such as a PhD, MFA, MA, MPhil or MBA when the fellowship is taken and should be at an advanced stage of research or prospectus development with a fully conceptualised project related to their degree.

The Beinecke Library Fellowship Program supports graduate students undertaking substantial onsite research with Yale Library Special Collections. Applications are welcomed from graduate programmes at universities and colleges anywhere in the world.

Benefits
Fellows receive USD 5,000 per month for research visits lasting between one and four months, allowing total fellowship funding of up to USD 20,000. Fellowships must be taken between 2027-07-01 and 2028-06-30.

Requirements
Applicants submit an application form, CV of no more than three pages, research proposal of no more than 1,200 words, detailed list of Yale Special Collections materials with collection names and call numbers or links and one confidential recommendation. The proposal must demonstrate substantive need for onsite use of the collections.

Prepare the project proposal and identify the Yale materials required for the research. Complete the fellowship application through Interfolio, upload the application materials and arrange the confidential recommendation. All materials must be received by 2026-09-15.
