About this opportunity

Program overview and application information

Denmark\'s Positive List for People with a Higher Education enables foreign professionals to obtain residence and work permits when offered jobs in occupations experiencing shortages of highly educated labour. The list effective from 2026-07-01 contains 164 job titles.

Benefits
The scheme provides legal residence and work authorisation for the approved Danish occupation and employer. Eligible family members can apply under Denmark\'s accompanying-family rules, and qualifying permit holders who unexpectedly lose their job may be able to obtain a limited job-seeking period under applicable SIRI rules.

Requirements
Applicants need an employment contract or binding job offer for a current Positive List occupation, relevant higher-education qualifications, passport documentation and employment terms satisfying Danish standards. Regulated professions also require the professional authorisation specified for the occupation.

How to apply
Check that the exact occupation and DISCO code appear on the current Positive List, secure the qualifying Danish job and gather the education and employment documents. Create the SIRI case order, pay the applicable DKK 6,810 fee and complete the AR1 employer-and-employee application process with biometrics.
