Who can apply

Review the official criteria before applying

Applicants of all nationalities, including Ugandan citizens, may apply. Candidates need a recognised bachelor\'s degree of at least 180 ECTS or three years in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Technology or a closely related field. Applicants must satisfy the programme\'s English-language standard; accepted evidence includes IELTS Academic 6.5 with at least 6.0 in each component, TOEFL iBT 92 with at least 20 in each component or another listed equivalent.

EMship provides advanced training in the design, analysis and sustainability of ships and offshore structures. Students study at several European universities and complete an internationally supervised Master\'s thesis.

Requirements
Applicants provide a passport photograph, passport copy, Europass CV, personal statement, bachelor\'s diploma, certified academic transcript, certified English-language evidence and two references. Documents not issued in English must satisfy the consortium\'s certification and translation rules.

How to apply
Create an application through Ghent University\'s OASIS registration system when applications open on 2026-10-01. Complete the EMship application, upload all required documentation and arrange for the two references to be submitted according to consortium instructions by 2027-01-31.
