About this opportunity
Program overview and application information
DAAD Research Grants in Germany support doctoral candidates and early-career postdoctoral researchers who wish to undertake a defined research project at a German university or recognised research institution. Doctoral research visits can be supported for two to twelve months and early postdoctoral projects for two to six months.
Benefits
The grant provides a monthly DAAD scholarship payment appropriate to the applicant\'s academic status, insurance coverage, a travel allowance unless covered by another source and possible additional allowances under DAAD rules. The programme supports research rather than completion of an entire degree programme.
Requirements
Applicants need a convincing research proposal and schedule, curriculum vitae, academic certificates and transcripts, confirmation from an academic host in Germany, language evidence appropriate to the project and other documents specified in the DAAD scholarship database. Documents not in German or English require translations.
How to apply
Identify an appropriate German research host and obtain confirmation of supervision or hosting. Register in the DAAD application portal, complete the online application, upload the research proposal, CV, academic records, host confirmation and required supporting documents and submit by 2026-11-16 for the next published selection round.
