Open worldwide, including Ugandans. Requirements vary by discipline. Researchers generally need an eligible doctorate and publication record; journalists generally need at least five years of professional experience. Current students are ineligible.

Program overview and application information
Harvard Radcliffe offers selected fellows a US$78,000 stipend plus US$5,000 for project expenses, with possible additional relocation, housing, childcare and healthcare support. Fellows must reside in the Cambridge/Boston area during the fellowship year. Applications from Uganda and all other countries are accepted. Humanities, social sciences, creative arts, journalism and nonfiction applications close 10 September 2026 at 5:00 p.m. US Eastern Time. Science, engineering and mathematics applications close 1 October 2026 at 5:00 p.m. US Eastern Time.
