Professional and freelance journalists from developing or transitioning countries, including Uganda, may apply. Working English is required. Investigative or data-journalism experience is advantageous, and Global South and underrepresented applicants are prioritized.

These fellowships support participation in the Global Investigative Journalism Conference on 19–23 October 2027. Journalists access investigative reporting workshops and international professional networks.

Benefits
Full awards cover round-trip airfare, airport transfers, four hotel nights, registration and specified conference meals and events. Partial awards may be offered. Visa costs, per diem and home-airport transport are excluded.

Requirements
An English fellowship application establishing professional journalism experience and the value of conference participation. Fellows must subsequently publish a related story or deliver a knowledge-sharing presentation.
